This week marks the first day of Hudson Community School District's week with the Science Technology Engineering and Math (STEM) Exploratorium . . . Otherwise known

as the STEMi Truck!

The STEMi is a part of Hawkeye Community College STEM outreach. The other science teacher, our guidance counselor and I went to a day-long training to learn about Z-Space.

Z-Space is three-dimensional virtual reality learning program including:

- Exploring 3D models.

- Experimenting with Newton’s Laws of Motion, Rube-Goldberg and chain-reaction activities.

- Building and troubleshooting electrical circuits.

- Interactive virtual dissection

- Designing for 3D printing

We're just a pilot group, so we will only get a taste of it this week. However, all 7-12 students will get through it as well as the 3rd grade group.

We're looking forward to having it back for another week late this semester. =)

My son and I giving it a go.
